The Aftermath of 16/12/2012

“This is the motherland of philosophy, of spirituality, and of ethics, of sweetness, gentleness, and love. These still exist, and my experience of the world leads me to stand on firm ground and make the bold statement that India is still the first & foremost of all the nations of the world in these respects.”
-By Swami Vivekananda

We have many holidays in a year most of them are in the names of great speakers, scholars and leaders and many a times our current generation political leaders are idolizes them as well. But are we passing on their values through our education system to our coming generations or not.

This is a big question in the perspective of current situation where youngsters are out fighting for bringing justice to that 23 year old victim who succumbed not to the injuries but to the brutality of those monsters, beasts whatever you call.

At a time when half of our country is following up the one of the biggest movement of our time at the back drop of one of the most heinous crimes; a big question is arising. What is the root cause?

Well, debates are going on the news channels a number of socialists, educationists and activists are giving their opinions on it.

Some blame it on our judicial system, some blames the law enforcement agencies and some blames media and Bollywood Masala and then comes a think tank which says that we all are somehow responsible for it, which is true as well.

But still we are only seeing the symptoms not the actual picture. Some very well known influential people came up and tried to blame it on the globalization or urbanization or our so called modern world. Well this seems close.
It has a very possibility that this curse is spreading because of it is still early days for the mix of the west to east i.e., urbanization. But then comes the stats that there is hug increase in such case in the rural India and this defies the whole above logic.

So what is this??? What is the root cause???

And the answer is our education system, which we are providing to a big number but its quality is negligible. You have the stats in front of you, in 80% India is still depending on government schools where either student ratio is very low or it is almost negligible. Students sit in pathetic class rooms and none existent school teachers were there to teach. They only care for their monthly salary not the quality of education they provide.
Recent CTET exams results suggest that after two rounds of screening there are less than 1% aspirant who are capable of clearing these exams but still their capability of providing quality education to our new coming generations.

What values we provide to our kids is really a matter of concern, we can’t easily get of this chart but certainly we need to improve it on a war foot basis otherwise there will be no stopping of such cases even in the presence of harsh laws, increased policemen etc.

The reason is the output of our system is the one who will go out and man the posts which are meant for enforcing the law for the benefit of the society.

Unfortunately this is not going to happen as our main focus is on bringing the culprit to the death penalty and the politicians wants us to do the same.

Hope people will understand the value of education not of the literacy rate which is increasing but it’s good for nothing as we all are witnessing.

Well all this debate raises some questions in my mind as well. Some slogans like “my voice is higher than my skirt”, and the way all these women activists are chasing up each and every one who are advising the women on their dressing sense are really mind boggling. It only forces me to ask a question to them that whether wearing a skirt is the only parameter of judging the freedom given to women by the society.

Hope you will answer me.

  1. A woman has an absolute right over her body, if she consents its ok, anything else is rape or molestation, whether it is skirt or any item of clothing she wears gives her the freedom is absolutely her prerogative,

We must learn to respect that
